I shot this gig just for fun… yes, photography is still fun for me! I started out doing music photography and while I now do a wide range of other work, shooting bands is still one of my favourite things. There’s a mix of excitement, adrenaline and noise that’s hard to beat.

It must be a couple of years since I’ve been to a Lesson No.1 show, and this was a good one. Buffalo Bar is a fitting venue for this sort of show and in this case also a good place to shoot. Because I was working just to please myself I could experiment and do stuff that might be too risky for many magazines to use, so loads of light trails, fisheye lens, multiple exposures, off camera flash and backlights and enough lens flares to satisfy my current Star-Trek-look obsession.
