Say It (film poster v1)
‘Say It’ is a short film I shot for It’s My Shout/BBC in Summer 2013, that was screened on the BBC towards the end of the year as part of the ‘Made In Wales’ series.

Here are a sequence of graded frame grabs from the rushes, and the two versions of the film poster I designed. The images you see here aren’t what would usually be called photos, they’re individual frames taken out of the video – a motion picture is only a sequence of still images shown rapidly one after the other.

The footage was shot fairly neutral, not very contrasty and with low saturated. I ‘graded’ these frame grabs myself, and they probably differ somewhat from what was used in the film itself (which I didn’t edit or grade).

Say It was shot mostly on a Canon EOS C300 with PL lenses, with a lot of it in slow motion. I also used a Sony RX100 for a couple of speciality shots, it’s a great little camera, probably my favourite right now.

I’m doing more film work recently, I love the collaboration and that I get to shoot in a way that wouldn’t really work for commercial photography.
If you have a project you’d like to work together on please get in touch.
