Rob Brydon

One of the things I love about my job is the people I get to meet.
The comedian Rob Brydon is probably best known for the massively successful TV comedy ‘Gavin & Stacey’, but on this day he was in Cardiff on serious business, to attend a charity event and publicise the charity Tenovus of which he’s a patron.
Rob had very little time to spare so I had to be super efficient with the photos. I planned the shots in advance and tested lights with a stand-in before Rob arrived. We steamed through the whole lot in less than 5 minutes which I was able to do because Rob is such a professional. I’d have liked to have spoken to him for longer.
The double photo is a take on on a shot by Joe McNally of the American comedian Steve Martin. Even if no one gets it the reference it’s a way to convey Rob’s humorous and serious sides.
